Aisling Bea
Aisling is an Irish-born comedian that has been in the business for some time. Born in Kildare, Ireland on 16th March 1984. She's appeared on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh Sullivan (born on March 16, 1984), also known as Aisling bea, is an Irish comedian actor, writer and director. Bea, who began appearing as part of the cast on Irish or British TV programs in the year 2009, started her career as an stand-up comic in 2011. As early as 2012 Bea began appearing on sitcoms or sketch comedy. In 2012, she began appearing in panel shows following the win of an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. In 2016 and 2017, she was a team leader on 8 Out of 10 Cats. She is also a contestant of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Parents were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has one younger sister, Sinead. In 2012 she became the second female to be awarded the So You Believe That You're Funny award. Bea was awarded the award to honor her father. Aisling O'Sullivan, also referred to as Cliodhnadh Aisling was born in Kildare town in County Kildare. Her father Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide at the age of three. Bea was just three years old, though she was not told how he died until she was 13 years old. She chose the stage name Bea in honor of her deceased father. She also wrote an article for The Guardian on her family's suicide story. Bea (and her sister Sinead) were brought up in the same home as Helen Moloney who was a educator and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. They were obsessed with race meetings and horses. Bea started out as a tourist guide at the Irish National Stud. But she quickly realized that her passion was for performing and not racing.
